I’m very excited to try Belo Kojic Intensive Whitening Extra Moisture Bar to experience the promise of  ‘intensive whitening with no sting sensation’. I saw their ad with Sarah Geronimo and got intrigued. I wonder how it will work for me, given that I have a sensitive skin. I thought of buying one from Watsons at 64.75Php yet I find it a bit expensive for review purposes. Good thing I’m a fan of Sample Room and got plenty of points to try this luxurious looking soap. This Halal certified 65g soap is under the Belo brand, manufactured in the Philippines for Intelligent Skin Care, Inc.

INGREDIENTS

Kojic Acid – An organic compound that prevents melanin production and minimizes pigmentation from the source.

Tranexamic Acid – An amino acid derivative that inhibits inflammation and reduces the appearance of stubborn dark spots that do not respond to other skin lightening ingredients.

Glycerin – A powerful moisturizing agent that prevents moisture loss and restores the skin’s firmness and elasticity.

Others: Sodium Palmate, Water, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sorbitol, Sucrose, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Niacinamide, Glucono-delta-Lactone, Sodium Lactate, Fragrance, Lactic Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, D&C Orange No.4 (CI15510).

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Discontinue other whitening brands one week prior to use as this may not be compatible with Belo Kojic Intensive Whitening Extra Moisture Bar.

Use twice daily for the face and body. There may be slight stinging and itchiness as the actives work in exfoliating the skin.

If prolonged irritation occurs, discontinue use.

THE VERDICT

PROS: I like its orange transparent look. A subtle calming smell comes out as I lather the soap on my skin. It is also easy to rinse. After the bath, I noticed my skin look lighter and soft. I tried scratching my skin minutes after and got a light scratch. It does moisturize the skin as it whitens, unlike other whitening soaps. There is no itchy feeling even when you sweat. Overall, I love the product and I look forward to seeing the whitening effect soon.

CONS: The whitening effect is not that strong. But I’m sure with continued use, you’ll get a good result. It is not as bubbly and slippery like other soaps, but it does create a foamy lather and a not so sticky feel scrub. This might give you a feeling of scrubbing your skin without soap.
