SouthSide Grill is a new place in the South (not in Dampa!) where you can enjoy fresh, live Unli Crab and chill with your family, workmates and your barkada. It is located near the Dream Hotel and SM Southmall, strategically located for your convenience.

About SouthSide Grill

The original plan was to set up a homy, simple, lutong-bahay carinderia with a twist. This group of Real Estate marketing professionals gone through all peaks and valleys of the business. They decided to make SouthSide Grill a place where crabs meet affordability, with all-time Filipino favourite dishes along with chill ambience to dine, drink and enjoy music from a variety of new and emerging talented bands.

Management & Crew

Composed of versatile crew and management, the SouthSide Grill is always open for improvement to keep up with the demands of its customers. The management makes sure that everyone feels cozy on their stay. Even the restrooms have everything a lady customer needs like a door hanger and bidet. Yes! Their cook is versatile. Let them know if you have something in mind that is not on their menu. You might be surprised to see it served right in front of you. Wow!

Customers

Southside Grill’s regular operating hours are in the afternoon ’til dawn that makes it the best place to chill out after work, perfect for those in day-shift or mid-shift. They are accepting reservations early in the afternoon for family gatherings, groups, and company events. This is also perfect for some customers want to work either beside a coffee or a beer. Band and music enthusiasts gather every Wednesday, Friday (open mic) and Saturday. You can find the updated list of bands in SouthSide Grill’s social media accounts.

Ambience

The place is air-conditioned and can accommodate 50 persons inside. If there is a band setup, the room can accommodate 25-30 persons. There are a few seats outside for smokers. A car park is available but they usually extend the seats in this area during peak hours and band nights. The place is located near Eurotel and Dream Hotel that makes it less of a hassle to go home when you simply can’t.

Food

The menu includes the mouthwatering Unli Crab, Filipino food available in ala cart and platter, and all sorts of drinks. We tried a few from the choices, mostly seafood and pulutan. Takeaway is allowed.

Unli Crab

Rest assured that SouthSide Grill serves only fresh, live crabs for its Unli Crab. By the way, a reservation is required for the Unli Crab. They make sure that all guests get a taste of a large-sized crab while the next batch might not be as large as the first but definitely the same in grams. You can say that the crabs are fresh because it is not dry and has a sweet and salty taste. They have crab crackers available upon request. It comes with 2 sauces, (1) Singaporean Chili and (2) Filipino Vinegar.

Shrimp

You have three choices for the shrimp: Singaporean Chili, Heart Attack, and Butter Garlic with Oyster. Each served with fresh, large juicy shrimps. We tried the Singaporean Chili and I can say that I love the sauce and it’s tolerable. I’m not into spicy food but this one is OK!

Buttered Chicken

One of the best Buttered Chicken I’ve tried! Nicole of ChicMix.Net has a lot to say about it. As a fan of Buttered Chicken, I can say that this is really yummy and worth the price.

Pork Sisig

The Pork Sisig is known as one of the best pulutan yet this one is served with a lot of veggies. Oopss! I’m not a veggie lover but I can eat them if there is enough meat to deceive my taste buds. If you love veggies, this is something you would want with your beer.

Inihaw Platter

The Inihaw Platter includes Grilled Liempo, Chicken BBQ, Grilled Squid, and Grilled Salmon. Two (2) big eaters can share this platter.

Seafood Platter

The Seafood Platter includes Crab, Grilled Shrimp, Baked Tahong, and Fried Calamares. Two (2) big eaters can share this platter.
