We are all advised to stay at home this quarantine but keeping ourselves healthy is our responsibility.
Here are a few things to do to keep yourself healthy while staying at home.
1. Keep your surroundings clean and organized.
It’s time to declutter and wipe off the dust from the shelves! Make sure that everything is in the right place. You should be able to move freely inside the house without bumping into scattered or pointed objects. You might want to read How to Maintain a Minimalist Workstation.
2. Wash and disinfect.
There is a possibility that you or any of your family member might bring germs and viruses after going out to run an errand. You can bring home these germs and viruses through your clothes, shoes, slippers, etc. You can have a sanitizing mat or simply leave your clothes and head on to the bathroom. But more often, you tend to go inside the house and spray alcohol all over your body and whatever stuff you brought in.
While spraying alcohol all over your body, you can also use an antibacterial fabric spray like Ambi Pur Antibac Fabric Spray. It removes 99.9% of germs and odor-causing bacteria on hard-to-wash items in a few sprays, thanks to its antibacterial active, OdorClear Technology.
3. Exercise with your mind and body. Relax.
This might sound cliche but we need to exercise to keep our brain stimulated. This video about How Exercise Benefits Your Brain inspired me to start moving. If you’re working on a weekday, you may want to try yoga or mediation to give yourself some stretch to relax and free yourself from anxiety.
I made it a habit to do a 10-15 minute yoga routine before going to bed with my favorite essential oils.
4. Eat healthy food and try essential oils.
Eating healthy food like fruits and vegetables gives more benefits than taking vitamins daily. Healthy food not only boosts our immune system, it helps in proper digestion, too. Taking medicines and vitamins overtime will greatly affect your liver and kidney functions.
Aside from healthy food, a lot of people are starting to use essential oils as part of their routine. Essential oils are often used to ease stress, boost mood, relieve pain from headaches and migraines, get a better night’s sleep, quell nausea, and even repel insects. Most essential oils have antiseptic properties as well.[1]
Here in the Philippines, the well-known essential oil brands are doTerra and Young Living. I already attended a seminar with doTerra and a lot of my friends are using YL. Yet, I’m a miser, so while I can’t afford to buy these brands, I’m using the essential oils from Pure Bliss. If you still haven’t tried essential oils, Peppermint and Lavender oil is a nice combo for relaxation.
5. Take time to rest and spend time with your loved ones
The demand for our time and effort increased during the pandemic. Most of us are working from home while others are hustling to make a living. We are given so much time and energy to do more and be productive. Yet, it’s fair enough to use this extra time and energy to spend more time with ourselves and our family. Take a break, feel happy and loved while spending time with your family or do the things you’ve always wanted to do. Get enough sleep, start a new habit.
STAY HEALTHY AND SAFE EVERYONE!
