Wedding suppliers can be found all over Facebook and bridal fairs. There are wedding supplier groups on Facebook where you can ask for a recommendation or start an “LF” post. You will be surprised how fast they respond by sending you a message to showcase their rates and services.

Bridal fairs are also a good option to score huge discounts, but I suggest not to dive into these great offers easily. There are a lot of things that you need to consider before signing up for a supplier. I will discuss this topic on a different post to explain it further.

Now, you have a list of suppliers or maybe you are still trying to figure out who to choose among them. NOTE: You can change your supplier if you are not satisfied with how they work with you. Do this as early as you can to avoid further cost and stress. Thank me later.

If you are still looking for a wedding supplier, consider the following:

The wedding supplier is referred by a friend

If your friend availed the service of a certain wedding supplier and referred them to you, this is a good indication that the supplier is reliable and will be easier to deal with to maintain a good relationship with you and your friend.

They have a well-curated portfolio, made with effort

I’m sure you have a theme for your wedding. Thus, you should check if the wedding supplier can provide you with what you need as you need it. Check if they do have the same theme in their portfolio. In case they don’t, check their work versus their rate. You may also opt for a newcomer at a lower rate (at your own risk), they might be building their portfolio and would definitely give their best shot to make a good one.

They present a list of services with rates and packages

This means they already experienced offering the service at a profitable rate and can still keep it affordable for us. Be very keen on every detail and make sure it is within budget. If the desired service is not included in the basic package, try to canvass how much that specific service will cost versus the supplier’s package that includes that service but at a higher price.

No hidden charges

OK, you got a discounted wedding package but always remember that aside from these services, you have to pay for transportation, toll fees, crew meal, etc. Other fees like these should be written in the contract or verbally discussed with the couple. Most wedding suppliers declare how much and how many crew meals you should provide for their team. Some of them might need 2-3 meals like coordinators and photographers, while some only need 1 meal. In case you booked a supplier from Manila and you’re from Cavite, expect a transportation allowance for reimbursement.

If you already have a wedding supplier

It should be easy to communicate and meet with them

Communication should be easier with the rise of social media and messaging apps. Good wedding suppliers make communication easier by being able to use all sorts of communication channels: FB messenger, Viber, Call & Text, Email. Furthermore, they should be prompt in answering your queries immediately. They should be able to answer clearly and ready to answer follow up questions. On the other hand, we should also consider that they might be busy as well, especially on weekends. But, I tell you, good suppliers can answer your query in less than an hour.

We meet the suppliers for signing contracts, initial interview and planning, and furnishing every detail before the wedding day. You need to set an appointment favorable for both parties. Good suppliers make themselves available and make you feel prioritized. They respect your time and arrive at the meeting place earlier, if not, on time. As the host, treat them to a nice meal or snack.

They are willing to go the extra mile

Wedding suppliers are expected to produce good service and results. But what separates good wedding suppliers is their willingness to go the extra mile. This means they are willing to guide you, help you understand what you have/should do (hello, this is your first time to get married!), and sometimes they are willing to take the responsibility. Of course, it is reasonable to pay it forward by means of tokens/tips.

There you go! The wedding planning and the journey towards your big day can be tough or as easy as the breeze. Always remember, your wedding suppliers should be able to help you with this journey, choose wisely and don’t forget that it is still you who’s in charge of everything. You should not leave everything to your suppliers. They are your enablers and everything that you say matters to them and will be part of their plan and execution.

Hope this helps and I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing this to help soon-to-be brides in their journey to getting married.

Let me know if there’s any other wedding topic that you want me to cover and I am willing to share my thoughts to help.
