Raise your hand if you are still looking for the right moisturizer for your sensitive, combination type of skin. VMV Hypoallergenics Hydra Balance Smart Moisturizer could be the one.
It’s hard to find the right products for us who have a sensitive and a combination skin type. A combination skin type can be dry or normal in some areas, and oily in others, such as the T-zone. The T-zone is the nose, forehead, and chin area. This could mean a long search for the best product (almost) to treat all of these or settle with using different products for each area. What makes it harder is when you encounter allergic reactions from these products.
There’s a lot of products on the market that we can try. Every time I go out, I opt to visit a shop that sells beauty/skin care products to check if they have a product that will work for me. I prefer budget-friendly and effective products. But what if you still can’t find the one that matches your skin’s drama from all of these inexpensive products. That’s when I thought, “What if I try an expensive one.”
I’ve seen a lot of posts and promos about VMV Hypoallergenics so I gave it a try. The shop and the products looked minimalistic in design. This gave me a hint that the products might be expensive. 😉 I tried to look at their wide range of products. I need a moisturizer that time so I headed to the moisturizer section.
VMV Hypoallergenics has different variants of moisturizers for different skin types. The price is not indicated on the shelves. I asked for the price of VMV Hypoallergenics Hydra Balance Smart Moisturizer for Combination Skin and I got a whopping 500php for a 30mL tube. Expensive, eh? Still, I thought I’d like to give it a try.
THE CLAIM – Smart Hydration: More hydration in drier areas without adding shine or clogging pores in oilier areas.
The product is perfectly sealed to maintain its texture. It is watery and will easily drip from the tube if not held properly. This moisturizer is odourless, perfect for those with allergic rhinitis.
It is very lightweight on the skin but guarantees hydration. My skin remained hydrated and soft even after applying powder. It doesn’t add whitening or smoothening effect like other moisturizers but this moisturizer is true to their claims. My dry skin became hydrated while my T-zone seem to be controlled. The oiliness became lesser than usual.
I did not encounter acne breakouts but the product is not able to guard your skin against external irritants. Though, it helps to relieve your skin from existing skin allergies and irritation. No itch and inflammation – my skin’s usual allergic reaction. I still feel itchy when my hair touches my face though.
Is it worth the price? I can say yes especially if you have sensitive skin. Sometimes, it is better to splurge on expensive but effective products than putting your skin at risk. Still, my search is not yet done. 🙂
BTW, I bought mine from VMV Hypoallergenics shop at SM Megamall.
