REVIEW | Ayo Premium Whitening Soaps -The Real Deal in Natural Skin Whitening

While many mass-produced whitening soaps in the market today could hardly be classified as ‘True’ soap, Ayo Premium Whitening promises to be the real deal in natural skin whitening. Here’s my review of Ayo Premium Whitening Soaps.

Ayo Premium Whitening Soaps -The Real Deal in Natural Skin Whitening
Ayo Premium Whitening Soaps -The Real Deal in Natural Skin Whitening

Ayo Premium Whitening is the first and only Skin Whitening Soap in the Philippines with Advanced Alphaglow® Complex. Alphaglow® is an expertly formulated blend of time-tested whitening Botanicals in synergy with proven and groundbreaking whitening Actives.

Each ingredient brings its inherent skin benefits while potentiating the effect of the others. The result is a holistic and comprehensive approach to skin whitening that delivers safe, immediate and lasting results.

Ayo is a high-quality cold process soap, freshly handmade in signature small batches. Pure and gentle, with no harmful ingredients. It is safe for all ages, all skin types, and for long-term use. It’s rich, creamy lather leaves your skin softer, moisturized and younger-looking.

What’s in each bar of Ayo Premium Whitening Soaps?

The Alphaglow® Effect Formulation

1. Alpha Arbutin

Alpha Arbutin effectively inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme from producing melanin. Thereby whitening, brightening and evening skin tone in as little as seven days. It is proven and tested to rapidly reduce dark spots, dark circles, melasma, scars, acne, pimples and wrinkles.

Why Alpha Arbutin?

  • It is a safer alternative to Hydroquinone, which has since been banned in many countries for being carcinogenic.
  • At least 10 times more effective than Beta Arbutin (or Arbutin)
  • Proven to work faster and more effectively than Kojic Acid
  • More stable and effective than Glutathione as an active in leave-on and wash-off skin care products.

2. Alpha Hydroxy Acids

AHAs are natural exfoliants, making your skin smoother, even-toned and appreciably brighter – it glows. They are excellent ingredients for those with dry, dull or uneven complexions, as well as aged or sun-damaged skin.

It optimizes your skin’s absorption of other beneficial actives and skin nutrients. Precisely the rationale why AHAs are an integral part of Ayo’s Alphaglow Complex.

3. Citric Acid

The CITRIC ACID in Ayo helps lower the soap’s pH level, making it suitable even for those with sensitive skin.

4. Lactic Acid

Ayo soaps are formulated with Lactic Acid that is nature-derived from sour milk, prized for centuries as a potent anti-ageing and skin brightening ingredient.

5. d-Alpha Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

The “d” indicates that it is Natural Vitamin E and not synthetic (indicated by ‘dl’). It neutralizes free radicals and protects the skin from environmental stressors like pollution and harmful UV Rays. Vitamin E rejuvenates, moisturizes, tightens and firms the skin, making it the perfect addition to any anti-ageing formula. Vitamin E also works as a great natural preservative in skin care.

6. Botanicals with Benefits

The heart and soul of Ayo rest with its Power Whitening Botanicals. Using only the finest skincare-grade Natural Extracts, Ayo Premium Whitening harnesses the time-tested whitening, antioxidant and anti-ageing properties of Five popular fruits and plants, indigenous to the Philippines and most parts of Asia.

PAPAYA contains PAPAIN, an enzyme that deep cleanses, exfoliates gently and illuminates skin. Rich in Vitamins A-C-E, Papaya nourishes, rejuvenates and reverses signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles. Papaya also treats and prevents acne, hyperpigmentation and skin blemishes.

PINEAPPLE is rich in BROMELAIN, an enzyme that gently exfoliates lightens skin and refines pores. Packed with detoxifying Vitamins A-C-E, it prevents pimples, blemishes, and wrinkles, and stimulates Collagen synthesis for improved skin flexibility and hydration.

RADISH has powerful FLAVONOIDS that detoxify, lighten and clarify skin, and reverse signs of ageing. It’s high water content cools and hydrates the skin, keeping it fresh and young looking. It also has natural antibacterial properties that protect against pimples and other skin disorders.

TOMATO contains LYCOPENE, a natural sunscreen that blocks harmful UV rays and reverses signs of ageing. Also a natural astringent, it gently exfoliates, removes excess oils, shrinks pores and lightens skin. Its high Vitamin C & A content brightens skin, giving it a healthy, youthful, rosy glow.

TAMARIND has an array of ALPHA HYDROXY ACIDS that clear and lighten skin, lock moisture, and augment Collagen production. It supplies HYALURONIC ACID to keep skin smooth, plump and young-looking. Its potent mix of detoxifying Vitamins & Minerals repair and renew damaged skin, and has natural anti-fungal properties.

I was lucky enough to receive the five (5) variants of Ayo Premium Whitening soaps for review. I tried a lot of whitening soaps and I’m intrigued how the perfect blend of nature and breakthrough skin whitening technology of Ayo Premium Whitening works.

For my seven (7) days challenge, I used the Tamarind soap for the body and Pineapple soap for the face.

I chose Tamarind for the body because my arms and legs are dry and sun damaged over years of exposure from vigorous outdoor sports. I’d like to challenge its brightening, moisturizing and skin renewal power. For the face, I chose Pineapple to challenge its exfoliating, detoxifying and pore-refining power against my face with dark spots, freckles and a few acne scars.

The soaps were cut into smaller sizes so that I can easily determine how much it has decreased in size. They are placed in an improvised soap dish without cover to check if its fragrance will fade off easily. I used Tamarind once a day (every bath) and Pineapple twice a day (every bath and to washing my face at night).

There is no significant change in my skin on the first day of using the soaps, but after a few days, the results start to become visible.

The scent of the Tamarind soap reminds me of the soap that kills disease-causing germs. 😉 I asked my Grandma to validate and yes, I’m correct. It doesn’t give you an instant glow effect on the skin like other whitening soap does but I can attest to its moisturizing effect. It is non-drying and leaves your skin soft and smooth. At first, the soap is foamy, but as I go down to scrub my feet, I notice that it loses its foam. I need to smear it again on my scrub to become foamy.

It seems like it’s working on brightening my skin because I noticed that my skin looked more even toned than before. Surprisingly, the scent remained constant and the soap didn’t melt on the soap dish even after leaving it bubbly and wet. Tamarind soap will not leave your skin dry and squeaky after rinsing.

I love the scent of the Pineapple soap. So fruity and energizing! Before using the soap I am worried that this might leave my skin dry because I regularly use cleansers and exfoliating scrubs. The good news is, it is able to replace both!

If you are using soap for your face, you will love to try this variant. It is able to clear your face from all the dirt and skincare products you applied for the whole day. It will leave your skin soft and moisturized. After washing, my face became smooth, even toned and brighter.

There is not much difference in minimizing my pores for 7 days but it was able to thoroughly wash off the dirt from it. Some soaps become sticky when you start to perspire, but this one can be your best friend this summer because it will keep you fresh and smooth. The scent doesn’t stay for an hour, nonetheless, it will perk you up from a sleepy head.

Very economical!
Very economical!

Using the soaps did not trigger acne nor allergic reactions. It also helps in drying out pimples fast.

This is definitely a real deal in natural skin whitening! Effective and economical! This soap may last up to 2 months or so.

UPDATE (05/27/2018): Amongst all, Pineapple is the most fragrant and the least is Tomato. Tomato soap is remarkable and true to its claim to give you whiter, even-toned, glowing skin. Not just that, my skin has never felt so soft and smooth all day until I tried this soap. Radish and papaya have proven to continue to lighten my skin. Though I got a little itchy with Papaya when I used it on a very hot weather.
