Althea recently launched it’s fresh and funky K-beauty line A’BLOOM! Starting off with three (3) delightful goodies: A’bloom Sheet Masks, A’bloom Meringue Puffs, and A’bloom BHA Blackhead Blaster.

This year, Althea launched a lot of exclusive brand makeup and skincare products. And we are very excited when we learned about the upcoming launch of its own brand of fresh and funky K-beauty products A’BLOOM! They launched a Beauty Playground featuring the fruits and the cute puff playing around and chasing blackheads away. What’s up with this new line and is it really something worth digging into?

We are given the chance to take the first dibs on Althea’s A’BLOOM line to try and review. The A’BLOOM line includes A’bloom Sheet Masks (Water-Me-Long, Ac-Me-Peach, Avo-Cuddle-Me, and Sparkle-Me-Bright); A’bloom Giant and Baby Meringue Puffs; and A’bloom BHA Blackhead Blaster. Let me share with you a few details about each product and my experience using them.

A’bloom Sheet Masks

Let’s start off with the A’bloom Sheet Masks. It comes with 4 Fruit Mask: Water-Me-Long, Ac-Me-Peach, Avo-Cuddle-Me, and Sparkle-Me-Bright. Each mask comes with 25g of rich essence and a thin, eco-friendly tencel sheet made of 100% Eucalyptus tree with holes that fit every face shape perfectly. The essence is concentrated and doesn’t drip. The mask is cooling yet, tacky and a little hard to apply because it has a lot of cut on the sides.

What makes these masks worth digging?

These masks are all pH balancing, packed with all the good stuff and can be bought for only Php20.00 each! OMG! Don’t you think you should start hoarding these masks? You might be skeptical if you’re one of those whose buying face masks at Php50-Php200.

Water-Me-Long Moisturizing Watermelon Mask is perfect for hydration and achieving chok-chok skin. Its key ingredients are Watermelon (Citrullus Vulgaris) Fruit Extract and Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) Extract. It smells so relaxing and sweet like candy.

I tried this one after a week of stress from work. I had a lot of coffee, less sleep, and skipped my skincare routine most of the time. It definitely made my skin dry and dull; the best time to try a hydrating mask. It really did hydrate my skin ’til the next day. I woke up with less tacky, soft, and hydrated skin. My skin feels soft and plump even after a shower.

Ac-Me-Peach Anti-Blemish Peach Mask

Ac-Me-Peach Anti-Blemish Peach Mask is perfect for those with oily skin. It regulates oil and soothes irritated sensitive skin. Its key ingredients are Peach (Prunus Persica) Fruit Extract and Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) Leaf Extract. It smells mild and fruity.

I tried this mask while on a post-menstrual acne breakout. I had a zit under my chin and small ones on my cheeks. Good thing, Ac-Me-Peach is so effective! I noticed my zits calm down after removing the mask. I am relieved from itch, redness and swelling. The next day, the breakout eventually stopped and my zits dried out and started to heal. I’m really amazed by this mask! The excess serum is easily absorbed as I apply it into my arms and legs.

Avo-Cuddle-Me Nourishing Avocado Mask

Avo-Cuddle-Me Nourishing Avocado Mask is rich in antioxidants to nourish and protect skin from harmful environmental factors. Thus, it prevents wrinkles and further damage that leads to skin ageing. Its key ingredients are Adenosine, Avocado (Persea Gratissima) Fruit Extract and Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract. It smells mild and fruity.

While other masks give instant results, this one is something that you need to use on a regular basis to see its long term benefits. However, my skin feels soft after using this mask.

Sparkle-Me-Bright Brightening Lemon Lime Mask is a clarifying and brightening mask. And OMG, this one’s got my favorite ingredient Niacinamide! Other notable ingredients are Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Lime (Citrus Aurantifolia) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract.

A’bloom BHA Blackhead Blaster

A’bloom BHA Blackhead Blaster is your Natural BHA stick to remove blackheads and whiteheads. Some are still fond of squeezing their nose to remove nasty blackheads and whiteheads. Others prefer to get a facial to get things done. This product is one of your options if you want to try a more natural way to clear your pores from these nasty bumps.

Its key ingredient is White Willow Bark Extract 5,000ppm (Natural BHA). Other notable ingredients are Charcoal, Apricot seed, and Tea Tree Leaf Oil.

BHAs can get deeper into the pores to remove dead skin cells and excess sebum. White Willow Bark extract and charcoal is a perfect exfoliation tandem as charcoal effectively absorbs oil and dirt. Apricot seed scrubs away impurities while keeping your pores clean and tight while tea tree oil calms the skin and serves as an anti-inflammatory agent.

It comes in a black plastic tube with an additional tight cover inside to keep it sealed and fresh.

To use this product, cleanse your face and apply onto targeted areas with excess sebum. Keep the area damp or wet. Gently swipe the stick all over the area. Massage in a circular motion to thoroughly remove oil and dirt. Then, rinse off with lukewarm water.

I have a few blackheads but I have a lot of whiteheads. The first time I tried this, I didn’t notice any significant results in terms of removing blackheads and whiteheads. Yet, it really made my skin feel smoother and soft.

A’bloom Meringue Puffs are irresistibly cute beauty blenders for all your needs. The giant puff is perfect for full coverage application while the baby ones take care of the details. You will get three (3) baby puffs per pack. I love how soft these puffs are. It is made of latex-free and non-toxic materials to ensure it’s safe even on sensitive skin. You can use these either wet or dry.

These puffs are really soft even when wet! The puffs expand up to 1.5x of its size (check out the images for the size comparison). I love how easy it is to apply makeup with these blenders.
