One of the shipping options when it comes to sending packages from Korea (or any country) is via the post office or EMS. The post office is operating from Monday to Friday. As a full-time employee, we don’t usually file a leave to collect a package from the post office. We delegate and one of the requirements is an authorization letter to collect a package.
I’m waiting for a package to arrive for a month now. I haven’t received any notice from the post office and I was advised that there are lots of delays at the customs lately. I’m worried so, I thought of checking out the post office hoping that the package is already there.
What are the requirements to claim a package from the post office if you can’t do it yourself:
- Authorization letter
- Notice from the post office (I don’t have it so *crossed fingers*)
- 2 Valid IDs of the addressee, the ones with your complete address
- 2 Valid IDs of your representative
Refer to this link to search for the location of the post office in your province.
The authorization letter should state the name of the addressee, the representative, the sender and the address/country where the package came from.
Here’s a sample template for an authorization letter to collect a package from the post office:

I, ________________, hereby authorize my sister, ____________, to collect my package because I will not be able to go there personally. I am waiting for the package that is sent to me by _____ from ____________ and in case it is already there, I hope you will grant my request to hand it over to my sister.
Hoping for your kind consideration.

I found a nice walkthrough on How to Claim a Package at the Post Office from this link that may serve as a guide if you decided to claim a package yourself.
Wish me luck! If all else fails, at least I did what I can do and probably wait for the notice to arrive.
Hope this helps as much as I intended it to be. I enjoyed writing it and thanks for reading! Follow me on my social media accounts and stay updated on my latest reviews and features.
