Donate and Support – List of Animal Welfare Groups and Shelters In the Philippines

Filipinos consider pets as part of the family. During the ECQ, when businesses including veterinaries and pet supplies started to stop its operations, I’ve seen a lot of fur parents worrying about pet supplies and gasping for home remedies, especially for pets who need special care.

I found myself stressed in the same situation and I am thankful that most of us made through it and I was able to provide for my pug, Chichi. Yet, this reminded me of the animals in the zoo, in the shelter, and on the streets. I wonder how they made it during the pandemic.

At that moment I started following animal welfare groups and shelters. I’ve seen a lot of volunteers who did their best to ensure that these animals are taken care of. Others preferred to extend their help thru sponsorship and donation.

If you believe that animals need help as much as humans do, I encourage you to support and donate to the following animal welfare groups and shelters:

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is a registered non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to the protection and the promotion of humane treatment of all animals.

What they do:

  •  Educate and disseminate information concerning animal welfare, animal care, animal control, and other animal-related concerns.
  • Run an animal shelter called PARC (PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center), currently houses over 300 cats and dogs rescued from cruelty or neglect, where animals are rehabilitated in the hope of finding them new homes and a second chance at a good life.
  • Offer a low-cost clinic that provides veterinary services to the indigent community, including spay and neuter (kapon).
  • Accepts volunteers

===============================================================

I know there’s a lot of animal welfare groups out there and I have a few more on my notebook but for now, I’m sharing with you these groups that I’m supporting right now. I will add more animal welfare and shelters soon.

Please donate or support the furbabies from these groups. In case you decided that animal welfare can be part of your advocacy, please inquire or volunteer in these groups.

    So glad na madami palang organizations for pets and they encourage volunteers too! Sobrang okay nun para sa mga gustong tumulong in terms of service. Can’t donate right now kasi super tight ang budget but will surely do if nakaluwag-luwag. Thank you @thecuriostita for this blog! ❤️

      It’s ok, not everyone can donate this time since we all have our own responsibilities and priorities. the best we can do in this case is to let other people know that such organizations exist. thanks for being part of it!

    I am not a pet lover mula nung makagat ako ng aso ng kapitbahay namin when I was in Grade 3. But I do respect animals. Hindi ako favor sa mga zoo, animal museums, etc. Animals should be in their natural habitats. Pets, usually cats or dogs, should be loved as they have feelings as well.

    Also, this article is very interesting in a way na nakatulong ito to inform people how to show care and support to animals. I saluto you Ma’am! I’m sure maraming mga tao ang nakatulong through your blog. More power! ❤️
